Hi Pinaki. You have a great example of how a wildlife photograph can be successful without having to fill the frame with the singular animal. You've captured a vast and varied environment. Impressive!   Posted: 10/08/2026 04:12:37
Thank You Very Much. Interesting perspective. I thought this as a landscape first and the animal was there to scale, like they put people in landscape for scale.

It's nice to see wildlife in their environment, Pinaki, and this is pretty cool environment! The trees grab me first and it's with a smile that I discover the zebra. The contrast in size/scale is interesting. Nice harmonious and unifying colors and a strong composition. Well done!
One small distraction are the white reflections in the waves above the zebra that stand out to me. Possible clone them out?   Posted: 10/09/2026 20:41:34

Pinaki, that is a cool picture. My first thought was what Michael found: seeing the trees and then discovering the zebra. Well done. The trees are so interesting and the zebra for scale is perfect. I like how it is cropped.   Posted: 10/14/2026 21:09:26

A very good capture! The trees got my attention first, then the zebra!   Posted: 10/14/2026 23:12:55
Great shot. The trees really capture my attention. The zebra gives a sense of scale to the size of the trees. Without the zebra the photo would all flat.   Posted: 10/22/2026 16:11:42
Hi Pinaki. Those trees are really impressive! The zebra plays an important role to set the scale and tell us how large the trees really are.
I thought a bit about how to emphasize the trees even more and came up with two things. First, I think you can isolate the trees from the surround better in B&W than in color. Second, I think a crop that is tighter on the trees could further help. In particular in my edit below I cropped in to not include all of the crowns of the trees. Mentally in this situation the illusion becomes that the trees are even larger than in reality as the mind "completes" what is missing.
Nice image in any case.
