Purple Daisy by Sevinc Koyuncu Albayrak

October 2026 - Purple Daisy

About the Image(s)

A purple daisy that popped up all by itself in the corner of the garden at our summer house. It was so striking that I simply couldn't ignore it.
Nikon D90, 50mm, f/9, ISO 200.

Beautiful color on this daisy! The background is a bit bright but my eye still goes straight to the sharp center!   Posted: 10/02/2026 22:22:40

Hi Sevinc: The vivid pink Purple Daisy is very sharp in detail.

I concur with Susan regarding the background being a bit too light, I would suggest toning it down somewhat. As is, it kind of takes interest away from the purple flower.   Posted: 10/08/2026 02:56:18

Indeed Murphy.
I would have used a square format, and I like this presentation, there is more space for the flower and its environnement.   Posted: 10/16/2026 09:12:46

Sharp daisy with lot of details. Background could have been darker, it is somewhat too bright. There is a yellowish/brown branch at the top acting as a distraction. It is easily removed in post processing.   Posted: 10/16/2026 05:48:31

Nice colors Sevinç.
Sharp petals. Well done.
Good idea to have kept the landscape format iso the square one (what I would certainly have done ...) as you allow the flower to stay in its environnement.   Posted: 10/16/2026 09:15:17

The two most significant things that draw my eye into this image are the high color contrast with the purple petals and the green background; and the simplicity of the image. For me they are what make this a very good photo. I like the sharp detail you have with the flower and having it against the bokeh of the background in my opinion work well.

I agree with Susan regarding the background which I think could be a bit darker. However contrary to Vincent I like your format as in my opinion it helps give the flower a setting and I don't think it needs to be square.   Posted: 10/18/2026 20:49:11
