An in the forest image from a few years ago. Is there enough contrast?

Jack,
A nice simple nature shot is a sign of a watchful eye in my view. I like it
I think an increase in contrast is a good idea. I moved the contrast slider in LR to +45, I also set the white and black points by holding the Option key and moving those sliders and I thought it looked better.

Thanks Emil yes this certainly makes the image come alive, much appreciated.   Posted: 10/05/2026 02:15:28
Yes, I would say add more contrast. I like Emil's example. I like the diagonal leading line that forms a triangle just off center in the image.   Posted: 10/02/2026 18:24:25
Hi Jack, I'm always interested in capturing intimate landscapes, and you have a good one here. I do feel that it needs a little work to make it pop. I would lighten the central leaves and the work on contrast and add a vignette.   Posted: 10/04/2026 17:41:52
Jack,
I really like the simplicity of your composition. This is the kind of scene where IR can really shine. I do agree that more contrast is called for and Emil's version works well.   Posted: 10/14/2026 16:54:32

I really like th composition with the leaves going up into the crotch of the tree. I think it does need more contrast but I think I would do it locally to the wood and not a global increase in contrast. I like the subtle look of the leaves.   Posted: 10/19/2026 02:17:27
