Title: Mach 1 Speed
This image was created at the Fort Lauderdale Florida Air Show last year in May. At the time, the F-18 Super Hornet is about to break, or breaking, the sound barrier on a very sunny day with no clouds.
The image was created with the Nikon Z8 with the Nikkor zoom lens Z 180-600 f/5.6-6.3 VR @ 250 mm and these settings: ISO 560, f/8 and 1/2500 sec. I was panning to follow the plane and using 20 frames per second continuously.
The image was PP in LightRoom and cropped.

Hi Isaac. An amazing capture the mist or fog before the tail fin is very striking almost surrealistic. Perhaps the aircraft could have been a little lighter in exposure but this would have taken away the effect of the mist on the fuselage. A fine aircraft photo. Posted: 10/14/2026 10:35:49
