Timing is everything ??“ taken with a Canon 70mm-200mm lens with a Canon 5d Mark IV. This is a save of a penalty by a goalkeeper of Rushden Sargents in a soccer match. I was low down and to the left and about 5 metre from the goal.

Lee, nothing beats to be at the right place at the right time!
Superb capture. I like very much as how the ball is framed unobstructed by the arms and legs of the goalie. Very sharp and perfect background. Well done. Posted: 10/02/2026 18:10:34

Hi Lee. Great photo capturing the goalie at peak time. The ball clearly shown between his arms and his body elevated above the ground. Exposure, focus, background blur, perfect. A photo that cannot be improved. I was told by another photog when photographying soccer that the place to be was just to the left or right side of the goalie, this is what you have done and also got down at ground level.
