About the Image(s)

I had one of the best experiences this week at a horse farm in Western North Carolina for ’Spiritual Healing’. This was part of the property that ‘beckoned’ to me! It was taken with my Nikon ZII converted camera that I brought into LR for some tweaking and then to PS and Camera Raw. I chose to develop the blue sky and keep the pebbles toned blue as well.

I think it was a good choice to leave the sky and pebbles blue. I really like the tones and activity in the sky and the water. Blue is a very calming color, and this image gives me a sense of peace.   Posted: 10/20/2026 00:29:01

I am so jealous Debbie. I absolutely love IR images that retain a blue sky and its reflection on any water in the scene. Your image is great, well constructed with good depth due to your use of foreground, middle ground and background elements. Great dof, with lots of things for our eyes to wander around and take in. But. Up near the top right corner is a small white dot. I only point this out, because I feel that if you ever wanted to take this image further into some form of competition, I feel the judge(s) would pick on it. If I was to see it (as I do) and not point it out to you, I would loose sleep. Personally, I can't stand comps and camera club judges, they are too restrictive, obsessed with rules and their own opinions. Excuse me for venting, but that's just me. Great image Deddie.   Posted: 10/24/2026 07:21:13

Thank you so much for your lovely evaluation, Ian. Also, much appreciation for your noticing the white dot. It must be in my lens although I didn't see it on the RAW image--on second thought, I do see it now on the original! As an aside, I grew up in a house where everything was the color of Wedgewood Blue. It took me years to appreciate blue--now, I can't get enough of it!   Posted: 10/28/2026 00:14:19

It's a good image with a nice view of landscape and balance between sky, water and ground. It's the right choice to develop blue sky. However, in term of post-processing, I would like to make sky more bluish, white on some areas of grasses and trees. Nice work, Debbie.   Posted: 10/27/2026 21:17:07
