About the Image(s)
This image of wildflowers was taken last fall while taking a late afternoon stroll at the Daniel Wright Forest Preserve in Lake County. The blazing sun seemed to highlight the complementary, fall colors of the wildflowers. The image was taken with my Sony A7IV, at 67 mm, f14, 1/80 sec, and ISO 2000.

This image just makes me happy! The spiky purple flowers with the yellow flowers (goldenrod?) are a great combination. Nicely done!   Posted: 10/21/2026 00:14:36
Hi, Mary Ellen!
The complementary contrast of the bright yellow goldenrod and purple asters are so pleasing to me. I like the dynamic sense of this image because I can imagine a soft breeze that has swayed the plants. Thanks for sharing this seasonal beauty.

Very nice, I wish the yellow flowers on the right were a little sharper. Regardless, very pretty.   Posted: 10/26/2026 16:29:26

I wanted to find out why these colors, Red-Violet--Yellow--Green, work so well together. Using a color wheel is new to me but I spun the wheel and Split Complementary lined up.
