Taken a few years ago as a still life in my living room under window light. I used a 60 mm macro lens on my D5200 at ISO 100 and a shutter speed of 4 seconds. I did crop in during post processing and brightened the shadows a little. I removed a few blemished with the healing brush.

Thank you for sharing this lovely close-up image. I agree, the petals make me think of velvet. To my eye, the glowing center conveys a sense of energy and highlight the vibrance.
