October 2026 - Art of Arrival

About the Image(s)

Attached is my photo for October. Art of Arrival was shot last March in Crescent Bend with a Nikon Z8, 260mm focal length, 1/2500s, f/5.6, ISO 7200. Post processing consisted of removing distracting elements, converting to monochrome, cropping, increasing exposure selectively, adding brightness and contrast, and sharpening.

You have caught a good moment as the bird comes in to land on the tree. Interesting that you chose to convert the picture to monochrome. We are so used to seeing natural history pictures in colour these days. I like the crop it suits the subject. I like the sharpness and the detail in the wings. The lack of colour helps I feel in seeing the delicate details.   Posted: 10/18/2026 09:50:48

Great picture and excellent use of light. I was amazed by how the hard light is illuminating the wings of the bird on the right side. The details of the feathers are also very well captured.   Posted: 10/18/2026 18:17:02

I like the detail of the wings opened as it lands on the tree. The monochrome conversion makes it easier to look around at the detail of the bird. Very well done.   Posted: 10/23/2026 20:32:20

A great action shot with sharpness in the detail. You made a wise choice to convert to monochrome because it allows the viewer to see better the important details.   Posted: 10/27/2026 21:18:44

Lovely image the light in the feathers and wings capture my eyes, and the moment is perfect, gives lot of movement to the photo.   Posted: 10/28/2026 04:31:58
