About the Image(s)
I had the opportunity to explore some barns that were built in the early 1900s. In one of the barns there were three bundles of burlap hanging from a rafter. I liked the texture of the fabric and pattern of the folds. In processing the images, I chose to crop in to just the fold and not the whole bundle. I have no idea why people would hang bundles of burlap bags way up in the open rafters of a barn. Sony a1, Tamron 25-200 2.8 lens at 200, 1/320, f5.6, iso 12800 (camera set on ISO auto).

Even at ISO 12800, I don't see much noise, and the details and texture are still very clear. I also prefer the black-and-white version over the color one.   Posted: 10/11/2026 11:10:15
Thank you. I ran it through DeNoise in Lightroom and that cleaned it up pretty well.   Posted: 10/11/2026 17:14:03
I like the black and white too. Flowy and a softer subject.   Posted: 10/11/2026 18:57:55
I like the original color best. The crop allowed a merger at the top of the stack of burlap. Space and darkening there would help. Great texture in the photo.   Posted: 10/12/2026 18:08:42
I vote for the B&W. The feeling of concentric circles makes a strong image. It's almost an eye there at the top. The bottom has great texture but could be darker.   Posted: 10/14/2026 17:39:39
I like the B&W. Texture of the burlap is amazing.   Posted: 10/16/2026 12:43:58
My vote would be for the B&W too. I might make a minor suggestion. Looking at your histogram, you could stretch it out so you would have the full scale from Black to White. Kind of like Ansel Adams Zone System.   Posted: 10/20/2026 19:53:10
